How Nova Wellness Center is responding to isolation measures mandated by the state and federal government:
We remain OPEN for business but NOT “business as usual”.
All patient consults and sick visits will be conducted via telemedicine. Patients may schedule a visit online via our website as usual. Patients should NOT expect that their telemedicine encounter will occur at the exact time scheduled. All patients scheduled for a particular day will be placed on a list for our providers to contact via phone that day. We ARE NOT able to commit to an exact time to begin your phone consult as our staff are now working remotely, most from their home, and may not have childcare. If you have an appointment for a telemedicine encounter you may expect a phone call from a provider sometime that day. Your provider will text you before calling to confirm that you're available to take their call; we realize our patients are also multi-tasking as a result of isolation measures. We will do our best to coordinate with you, we request your patience and cooperation during this time.
All prescriptions will be sent electronically to your pharmacy. You will receive a text message from our office as soon as your eRx has been sent to your pharmacy. We recommend using the pharmacy drive through window to pick up your medication from your pharmacy.
Blood draws will NOT be performed at our office 3/30/20 until further notice. Patients who were scheduled or instructed to have lab work performed during this time may communicate with our staff regarding concerns. Patients SHOULD NOT PANIC regarding delays in lab work. Lab results are a useful tool to SUPPORT clinical diagnosis and treatment but are NOT the primary tool utilized by our providers. If you believe you have an URGENT need to have lab work performed schedule a telemedicine consult to discuss this with a provider. We do NOT intend to send patients to Quest or LabCorp for testing. The patient service centers have also been affected by isolation mandates. Facilities are short staffed so wait times to submit a specimen and receive lab results will be longer than usual. Patients must understand that going to a service center now may expose them to illness or infection. The labs have informed us that they WILL NOT collect specimens for COVID-19 testing. If you believe you MUST have a test performed please contact one of our providers to schedule a telemedicine consult, the need for lab work will be determined on a case by case basis. If you have an URGENT need for COVID-19 testing please contact your local health department. If you are severely ill you should seek treatment in an emergency or urgent care facility.
We will continue performing BioTe hormone pellet insertions. If you are due for hormone pellets replacement please contact our office staff to schedule an appointment. We are NOT currently offering online scheduling for pellet insertions so we can confirm adequate preparation before your procedure. In addition to our normal policies for sterile technique our providers and staff will be wearing N95 face masks to prevent viral transmission. Patients do not need to wear masks but may do so if they prefer. If you are experiencing symptoms of illness DO NOT schedule an appointment for pellet insertion, wait until you are fully recovered.
We are investigating obtaining COVID19 test kits for our patients but do NOT yet have them. We have been communicating with Quest labs to learn more about the reliability and turn around time for testing. IF we do perform testing it will be on a self pay basis ONLY as this is our policy for ALL laboratory testing. We have this policy to protect our patients from excessive lab bills and our staff from getting caught in the middle of battles between patients and their insurance provider. We believe in full transparency regarding medical fees, knowing the cost BEFORE you agree to a procedure is the only way to assure that. We are aware the news media is reporting that testing might be free, government and some insurance companies have claimed they might cover the cost. Decades of experience working with government and insurance providers are the reason we don't believe these types of promises. Our initial quote from Quest was $67 for the COVID-19 test alone and approximately $200 for a test that includes COVID-19 and other common respiratory pathogens. IF we do provide testing at our office there will be a $25 collection and handling fee to cover our costs for supplies required to collect specimens, and staff time required to prepare and transport specimens to Quest.
We will continue coach consults for our Ideal Protein clients. Please contact your coach to determine whether you want a telephone consult or an in- office consult. All necessary precautions will be employed to limit risk of viral transmission including sanitizing our scale between clients. Clients who prefer or require virtual consults may request curbside delivery of their IP supplies, please coordinate this with your coach.
Aesthetic services will not be performed until further notice.
